Denim DestructorNumber: 501Height: 5 foot 3 inch Favourite position: Pivot Injuries acquired: Torn cartilage and sprained ankles. Skating for SSRD since: Feb 2013 but have been skating since age 8. Favourite derby memory: The first ever Victorian Roller Derby family and friends bout. Finally my family and friends could finally see what this crazy sport was all about. Derby name inspiration: I love denim to the point that I just way too much of it. Anything you can think of made out of denim I either have or its on my to get list. I have put so many holes in my jeans while skating, I thought the name "Denim Destructor" suited me perfectly. EmmalitionNumber: 351Height: 163cm Favourite position: Jammer Injuries acquired: Apart from the usual bruises and Velcro grazes, I have a niggling re-occurring shoulder injury which started when collided hard with To Killer Shots at training, Hilarious at the time didn't feel a thing... until the next day. Acquired concussion at training from a block executed by Oriental Express and I landed with an awkward fall on my head. spent the night in Dandy Hospital had CT of my head and neck took 1and1/2 weeks off skates. Skating for SSRD since: Feb 2011 Favourite derby memory: Fun training on Friday nights at the shed as a freshie and the latest is being drafted as a bouting skater to the Dolly's!! Skating for SSRD since: The beginning Favourite derby memory: The day Harmin' and Sadie came to Skateworld for "training" (aka: the day SSRD progressed from a one crazy lady calling herself a league) or SSRD's first bout. MouldylocksNumber: 47Height: 5' 4" Favourite position: Blocker Injuries acquired: Deep gouges in my shin by my own wheels from a dodgy baseball slide... did the exact same thing the very next week and ripped all the scabs off again plus more. A minor concussion from a brain shear injury, plus the ever present bruises. Skating for SSRD since: Feb 2011 Favourite derby memory: Watching SSRD's first 'Bout For Blood' and deciding that I had to join up asap!! Derby name inspiration: Fairly obvious... am generally pretty mouldy, and I love faerytales. Oriental XpressNumber: 469Height: 165cm Favourite position: Pivot or Blocker 3 & 4 Injuries acquired: Four weeks of massive, throbbing headaches caused from my neck being out from when Inkabelle knocked me down……Hint: Whatever you do…don’t mess with Inka!!! Skating for SSRD since: Oct 2009 Favourite derby memory: The first time I was eligible to scrimmage and had my number written on my arm. I didn’t wash it off completely and wore a short sleeve top to work so I could show off my number!! Derby name inspiration: My husband came up with this when we started going out…he used to say and still does, that he has jumped onboard the “Oriental Xpress”. Why? Because I am asian and giving him the ride of his life!! Toot Toot!! Favourite song to skate to: Anything 80’s, anything that motivates and inspires me Favourite quote: I have sooo many!!
